Dwarf Anubias, also known as Anubias nana (or by its full scientific name: Anbubias barteri var. nana), is a variation of the popular Anubias barteri plant.  Like Anubias barteri, Dwarf Anubias is visually appealing and very easy to maintain; it can be either partially or fully submerged in water.  It features large, dark green leaves that look very sleek and give the plant a tropical appearance.

Dwarf Anubias is notorious for its hardiness and ease of care.  This plant will grow in just about any type of lighting, but its leaves grow more quickly and densely under high-intensity lighting.  Dwarf Anubias is generally considered a slow grower when compared to other plants, but it has been known to grow up to 6 inches tall over time.

The leaves of this plant are large, pointed at the ends, and leathery in texture.  Because the leaves are very tough, they are usually not eaten by fish or other plant-eating critters.  As with all plants in the Anubias family, Dwarf Anubias grows from a rhizome, so it may need to be anchored down in your substrate or tied to driftwood or rocks.
