Cryptanthus Bivittatus, a tender perennial, gained the name Red Ribbons for its red striped leaves. This bromeliad native to Brazil bears showy bright pink leaves with dark-red line in the middle that form a star pattern. Cryptanthus Bivittatus hidden green or white flowers grow in the inner part of the plant in crown structure. As a member of the Bromeliaceae family of tropical plants, it prefers well-drained soil with average moisture, and high humidity. Sunlight is needed as the more sunlight they are exposed to, the brighter they are coloured. Growing to the maximum height of 6 inches, this plant is one of the popularly grown houseplant for urban homes.
