This New World Terrestrial is from the Caribbean to Brazil, especially Hispaniola. In the wild, they are considered an obligate burrower.
They are considered a “bold” tarantula, and they are fantastic eaters. They are hardy and easy to care for. They may offer a threat pose, but they would rather retreat and hide than attack.
Juvenile: 2 - 4 cm, Sub-adult: 8 - 11 cm, Adult: 16 - 19 cm
