Pinguicula Lueana is a perennial rosette-forming insectivorous plant native to the state of Oaxaca in Mexico. It is the only species of butterwort known to have a red flower. Like other butterworts, Pinguicula Lueana has sticky adhesive leaves. forms “drool edges” which attract, capture and digest arthropod prey in order to supply the plant with nutrients such as nitrogen not found in the nutrient poor, acidic soil that it grows in.
