Vietnam Giant Red Legs Centipede (Scolopendra dehaani) is a large centipede and is widespread through much of Asia around the Indian Ocean as well as South and Central America, though, how much of this range is natural and how much is due to human interaction is unclear. They are one of the largest species of centipede, reaching an impressive and intimidating 20cm. Vietnam Giant Red Legs Centipede (Scolopendra dehaani) are an active and aggressive animal and will prey on virtually anything that it can overpower including insects, small mammals and birds. These animals have a formidable set of modified legs with sharp claws called forcipules which connect to venom glands and are used to inject and kill its prey. Bites from Giant Vietnam centipedes have been reported as being extremely painful and can cause localised swelling to massive swelling of the entire affected limb. It preys primarily on insectsand arachnids, including spiders, scorpions, and vinegaroons.
